Collaborate and share a project
Project sharing is authenticated. Gamepiece Studio does not currently create an anonymous public project link.
Invite a teammate
Open Team, enter the person’s account email where requested, and choose the smallest role that lets them do their work. The available role descriptions in Studio explain whether a person can view, edit, manage members, or administer the project.
Review access when a playtest, freelance engagement, or publishing handoff ends.
Presence and simultaneous work
Studio shows active collaborators in supported workspaces. Dataset comments and edits update in realtime, and the Designer can show current activity and editing locks.
For predictable collaboration:
- Avoid editing the same object in several tabs.
- Let imports, replacements, and structural dataset changes finish before others resume.
- Tell teammates before deleting or replacing shared images, fonts, variables, or columns.
- Wait for Saved before handing a task to someone else.
Reconnects and conflicts
If the connection drops, keep the active tab open. Realtime indicators may disappear while the underlying project is reconnecting. Do not treat another person as absent until the connection has returned.
The Designer may detect both a local recovery copy and a newer server version. The person who understands the missing work should choose which copy to keep; do not click through the conflict simply to clear it.
Comments
Comments currently belong to dataset cells. They can be edited, approved, or deleted and are useful for content decisions. Designer-canvas comments are planned but are not available today.
Share an output instead of the project
For a playtester who should not edit the project, share a downloaded PDF/image export or an appropriate tabletop integration. Check that the output contains no private notes, draft art, or licensed material that should remain within the team.
