Connect an AI assistant with MCP
MCP is a limited-preview connection for supported AI assistants. It can help eligible users inspect or update selected project content without turning Gamepiece Studio into a general public API.
The Developer area and token controls may not appear on every account. The tools and sign-in flow can change while the preview is being evaluated.
Before connecting
- Use an AI client that supports remote MCP servers.
- Sign in to the correct Gamepiece Studio account.
- Review the access requested by the client.
- Keep tokens private and remove them when the client is no longer used.
The public MCP server address is:
https://mcp.gamepiece.studio/mcp
Use the connection instructions shown in the Account Developer area when it is available. Those instructions reflect the authentication method enabled for your account.
What to expect
The current MCP surface focuses on supported project, design, dataset, and asset workflows. It does not expose Scratch Pad, account, billing, team administration, project archive import/export, or Tabletop Simulator/Screentop management.
An AI assistant can make mistakes. Review the project before approving a large edit, and keep a project archive or dataset export before a broad transformation.
Remove access
Revoke the connection or token from the Developer area when a device, client, or collaborator should no longer use it. Removing the client configuration alone may not revoke an issued credential.
See API availability for the boundary between MCP and internal Studio services.
